Tai Chi Basic Stances

   

Traditional Horse Stance (Wuji Stance)



Traditional Horse Stance (Wuji Stance)
    -Sink weight to bubbling well point on bottom of feet, do not extend knees over toes, Weight is distributed 50% (R)-50% (L) , it does not matter how far you sink (squat) down.

Traditional Forward Stance (Front Stance)





Traditional Forward Stance (Front Stance, Hill Climbing Stance)
    -Never fully extend back leg, never extend front knee over toe, weight distribution is 70%-80% on front leg and 30%-20% on back leg, keep back straight do not lean, sink weight to bubbling well point on bottoms of feet.

Traditional Backward Stance (Back, Hill Descending Stance)
    -Never fully extend front leg, weight distribution is 70%-80% on back leg and 30%-20% on front leg, keep back straight do not lean, sink weight to bubbling well point on bottoms of feet.
